What industry experts say about paraffinic oil:
- J. George Wills, Mobil Oil Corporation, in the textbook LUBRICATION FUNDAMENTALS states: “Extreme differences can exist among crude oils . . . For engines operating over a wide temperature range, the naphthenic (asphalt) oil would be less desirable … The naphthenic (asphalt) oil will change with temperature much more than the viscosity of the paraffinic stock.”
